The Halaris serie was made on Ikaria island in Greece, during an artist residency program (Artemis Studio Residency) in Nas. The waters of the Halaris river extend to the Aegean sea, and both are separated only by a few meters of sand. There, in the 6th Century BC, the Ikarians built a temple dedicated to Artemis. The paintings were made on the remains of this temple. Receptacles with water taken from the Halaris river, cotton, ink and pigments were placed under the sun a few hours. The cotton pieces were extracted from their bassins and placed on the canvases.
